In 2011, the Christchurch Arts Festival will return to build its reputation for being the premier winter arts festival in Australasia. The WinterGarden will present a new array of interactive art and installations in Cathedral Square, and the main programme will once again bring best of the world to Christchurch. The biennial Christchurch Arts Festival (CAF) presents a rich, diverse and bold programme of leading productions and international quality arts events targeting Christchurch residents and visitors. Around 50% of the programme is New Zealand sourced, with a special emphasis on premieres from the region and artists not often seen in the South Island. The remaining 50% is sourced from the very best of the world.

CAF aims to present experiences with a carefully and expertly selected mix of the innovative and old favourites, uncompromising in quality and style of programme, communication, presentation and organisation.
