The 2009 Festival Has Opened!

The 2009 Festival has opened with top shows and the WinterGarden delighting the public.
 
If you haven’t done so, head down to the WinterGarden in Cathedral Square and see the Square transformed.
 
The TVONE Ice Dome is up and running with one house sessions at 8.30am, 10.00am, 11.30am, 1.00pm, 2.30pm, 4.00pm, 6.00pm and 7.30pm. All you need to do is turn up in warm clothes – skates and hot chocolate are available inside the Dome. The entry price includes skate hire and the rink is suitable for skaters of all ages and abilities.
 
From 6.00pm onwards there are projections on the skin of the Dome - expect to see the whole dome enveloped in a spectacular snowstorm.
 
The TelstraClear Club has the David Berkman Quartet playing tonight, and tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5.30pm. This amazing jazz pianist from New York has played with and composed for some of the biggest names in the jazz world. He teams up with the tutors from CPIT Jazz School to play a blend of swinging rhythms, strong improvisation and dramatic melodies.
 
Caroline Nin – the hit of the 2008 Christchurch Cabaret Festival returns with Scarlet Stories – belting out classic songs from the likes of Piaf, Dietrich and Minnelli. This is a show not to be missed! Scarlet Stories – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday nights in the TelstraClear Club in Cathedral Square. 7.30pm
