International organist Christopher Herrick, the top UK organist of “Organ Fireworks” fame, who gave the three inaugural concerts on the Rieger Organ in the Town Hall in May 1997, returns to Christchurch for this much-anticipated concert.

Since 1984, Christopher Herrick has enjoyed a highly successful international career. Highlights include playing Bach’s complete organ works during the 1998 Lincoln Centre Festival in New York, his own ‘Organ Prom’ in the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, giving the opening concert at the Stockholm International Organ Festival as well as dedicating numerous organs in North America.

The programme for this concert includes works by Bach, Brahms, Dupre, Hollins and Rinck. Also included are more modern works such as three of the movements from ‘Animal Parade’, the set of affectionate animal caricatures.
