The Iiro Rantala New Trio, described as óne of the hottest properties in the jazz world today', samples hip hop, pop and street culture to create jazz at its exhilerating and adventurous best: definitely entertaining, witty, technically brillant, beautiful and occasionally wicked.

This Finnish three-piece band have made headlines across Europe with their cool blend of classic jazz and modern stylings. Comprising piano, guitar and human beatbox, the Trio takes jazz and fuses it with influences from international and street music to create a totally unique musical soundscape.

Iiro Rantala is Finland’s most successful jazz pianist. 18 years with Trio Töykeät have made him a star at home and abroad. The band has played close to 2500 gigs in more than 50 countries around the World. Iiro has recorded his first piano concerto and is often a featured soloist with Finland’s leading symphony orchestras. As well as a successful jazz and classical career, he is also writing music for theatre and dance productions as well as for other artists.

Iiro is joined here by Felix Zenger, a young human beat box artist with a terrific talent and Marzi Nyman one of Finland’s foremost young guitar stars.
